How it works
The Job Readiness Assessment: find out if you are ready to be hired, and what to fix
Short answer: A Job Readiness Assessment is a 30-minute interview with a person from Satlights that tests what a hiring team would test: whether you really own the work on your resume, your fundamentals, how you solve problems and how clearly you explain. Everyone gets a written report with a score out of 100 and what to improve. If you clear the bar, we introduce you directly to relevant employers.
How it works
- Apply in two minutes. Upload your resume and tell us the roles you want, your experience and your expected CTC.
- Book a 30-minute call. Pick a time that suits you. The assessment is a conversation with a person, not an automated test or an AI screen.
- Get assessed on real work. We go deep into what you say you built: why you made the choices you made, how it works, what broke and what you would change.
- Receive your report. A score out of 100, a risk band, the strengths and red flags we found, and a clear list of what to work on.
- Clear the bar, get introduced. If you clear it, we introduce you directly to relevant employers. If not, work on the report and come back to be re-assessed.
What we look at
- Ownership: can you explain, change and defend the work on your resume, or does it break down under a few follow-up questions?
- Fundamentals: do you know the concepts behind the tools you list, at the level your resume claims?
- Problem-solving: can you restate a problem, break it down and reason from first principles when the familiar path fails?
- Communication: can a teammate follow your explanation, or does it go in circles?
- Honest signals: resume claims that don't hold up and AI use without judgment are the red flags hiring teams most often reject on.
What you get
Every candidate gets a written feedback report, whether or not they clear the bar. It shows how a hiring team would read your interview today: your score and risk band, the strengths you can lean on, the red flags that cost you interviews and offers, and specific things to practise. It is written for you, so you know exactly what to change before your next interview.
About 5% of candidates clear our assessment bar. Of candidates who reached our Medium Risk band, 92% got an interview and 58% received a job offer.
Who it is for
Software engineers early in their career, freshers, and computer science students still studying in India: especially if you are applying to many jobs or internships and hearing nothing back, with no interviews, or interviews that end without feedback. Students get the most from it early: you find out what hiring teams will look for while there is still time to build it before placements. It is also for anyone who wants an honest, outside read on whether they are ready before they apply to the companies they care about most.
